SAS Opens Direct Route To Turin

The new winter schedule from SAS offers a new direct route between Copenhagen and Italy’s fourth largest city, Turin, famous for Italian classics such as espresso, vermouth and FIAT, plus skiing and world renowned wine districts.

SAS is launching a new direct route between Copenhagen and Turin, Italy’s fourth largest city.

The route opens on 21 December 2019, and SAS will fly there every Saturday* until 21 March 2020.

The new connection is part of the new SAS 2019/20 winter schedule that also includes a new direct route from Stockholm to Luxembourg and from Oslo to Kyiv, Ukraine.

“We are continuously expanding our network of direct routes between Scandinavia and important cultures and markets worldwide. More people are choosing to fly with SAS, and we aim to continue to be relevant and pioneering in a very competitive sector,” says Lars Sandahl Sørensen, Deputy CEO and COO at SAS.

Next winter, SAS will fly to 110 destinations from Denmark, Norway and Sweden.

A total of 17.3 million seats will be available in the winter schedule, which runs from 27 October to 28 March. SAS is able to achieve this thanks to the ongoing delivery of new Airbus A320neo, which has more seats and is the most fuel efficient aircraft type in the market reducing CO2 emissions by up to 18%.

The A320neo will be operating on the new route to Turin, and by 2023, SAS will have brought 80 new A320neo into service, at a rate of about one new aircraft per month.

TURIN
The northern Italian city is the home of major iconic Italian classic products such as espresso, vermouth and Fabbrica Italiana Automobili Torino, better known as FIAT. The city is also home to Museo Egizio, that houses the largest collection of ancient Egyptian artifacts in the world, plus an impression array of Art Nouveau art and architecture.

Turin is the main city of the Piedmont region, where you can find renowned wine districts such as Barolo and Barbaresco. What’s more, the city is only a few hours’ drive from some of the best ski resorts in Europe in the French and Italian Alps, including Chamonix, Val d’Isere, Tignes and Pragelato.
