SAS back on Bardufoss
From February 1, 2020, SAS will reinstate year-round flights to Bardufoss after a 12-year gap, establishing three daily flights to and from Oslo, with connections to the SAS and Star Alliance global network.
Bardufoss, which is just an hour’s drive from beautiful Senja island, is surrounded by stunning countryside, often described as Norway in miniature. It offers fantastic skiing opportunities in winter, and spectacular mountain hiking in the summer season. Norway’s national waterfall, Målselvfossen, offers great fishing, and you can visit Northern Europe’s longest salmon run, Polar Zoo, and take an invigorating dip at Polarbadet water park in characteristic Målselv mountain village.
– Not only will the Norwegian Armed Forces’ personnel and their families and friends benefit from SAS’ flight offering, we will also be making this beautiful region in Norway accessible for the international market via SAS’ and Star Alliance’s extensive route network, says Torbjørn Wist, CFO at SAS.
The flights to Bardufoss will start on February 1, 2020, with 140-180 seater Boeing 737, and from next autumn, the market’s most environmentally-friendly aircraft for short and medium distances, the Airbus 320 neo, will be phased in on the Norwegian route network, thus further improving the quality of its flight offerings.
