S7 ENGINEERING, part of S7 Technics Holding completes EN 9110:2016 certification

S7 ENGINEERING, the S7 Technics’ Domodedovo-based site has been certified by the new version of the EN 9110:2016 international standard, the first among Russian aircraft maintenance organizations.

The certificate, which attests the S7 Technics’ Moscow division’s compliance with EN 9110:2016 standards was issued by international certification body Bureau Veritas.

The EN 9110:2016 standard is based on ISO 9001:2015 and outlines the benchmark demands for quality management system in aircraft maintenance organizations.

“A quality management system, which functions in accordance with EN 9110:2016 requirements helps the company to streamline the way it is managed through managing business processes and measuring their performance by a number of indicators, which enable us to identify and eliminate the company’s weaknesses. The main indicators are safety, compliance with quality standards, meeting the headlines and customer satisfaction,” Oleg Golomolzin, S7 ENGINEERING’s quality director comments.

The advantage of EN 9110:2016 compliant QMS is the system-minded approach to corporate management of a maintenance organization, based on a set of rules designed by International Aerospace Quality Group (IAQG), including best practices not covered by EASA Part 145.

The fact that S 7 ENGINEERING hold and sustains its EN 9110:2016 certificate signals to its customers that they may rest assured of the provider’s production capability and reliability. It will contribute to strengthening the company’s position on the commercial aircraft maintenance market primarily through the attested safety of its services to airlines and ultimately, passengers.

“By implementing EN 9110:2016 standards we expect to strengthen our capabilities for aircraft maintenance and to become more attractive for our customers and partners, both in Russia and beyond,” S7 ENGINEERING general director Marat Tereschenko claims.

The impulse for initiating the EN 9110:2016 audits for S7 Technics companies was the holding’s developing cooperation with its international partners. In the short-term perspective, the holding’s other divisions – S 7 ENGINEERING’s Mineralnye Vody base and Novosibirsk-based Sibir Technic will also be EN 9110:2016 certified.

Introducing the EN 9110:2016 standards enabled S 7 ENGINEERING to not only improve its QMS, but create opportunities for seamless integration of Lean Production system, which will secure the holding’s continuous improvement of its organizational and production efficiency.

“Today an efficiently functioning QMS designed in compliance with international standards and best practices helps S7 Technics holding to organize its production processes in an optimal way, eliminate duplications and non-production losses of resources, secure staff sufficient in number and qualification, ensure the high quality of supplied materials and equipment,” Yevgeniy Shipilov, certification director of Bureau Veritas Certification Rus affirms. “Undoubtedly, the order and transparency of business processes provides the necessary fundamentals, which facilitate implementation of state of the art production technologies and Lean Production concept at S7 Technics Holding. Moreover, most lean production instruments are based on statistic quality management methods and Total Quality Management concepts, which lay ground to all quality management systems”.
