Low-cost carrier, Pobeda, plans to order standing seats for its new aircraft, pending approval and certification, as the airline looks to improve its efficiency, add 20% extra capacity, and sell more cheap tickets.

Pobeda currently operates 18 B737-800s, with plans to increase its fleet to 30 aircraft by the end of 2019.

The Italian firm, Aviointeriors, which has developed a prototype of standing places for aircraft, may be secured as the supplier of the seats.
