BERLIN – 13 February 2018 – In just over two months, the independent German airline Germania will launch its new route between Dresden and St. Petersburg in Russia. For the first time since the German Reunification, there will again be a regular scheduled service between the two twin cities.

At the annual "LED TOGETHER" event organised by St. Petersburg Pulkovo Airport (LED is the airport's international code), Germania received the "Expectation of 2018" award in the presence of numerous other representatives from the aviation and travel industry. The award recognises the hopeful anticipation with which the new route to Dresden is awaited in St. Petersburg.

On 26 April 2018, the first green and white Germania aircraft will depart Dresden for St. Petersburg. From then on, there will be two weekly flights between the Elbe and the Newa rivers. The airline is also adding new services to the Catalan city of Barcelona, to Athens, Thessaloniki and Corsica, and to Burgas on Bulgaria's Black Sea coast. A total of 21 destinations will be accessible from Dresden within Germania's summer schedule.

Tickets to St. Petersburg are available from only 69 euros one way and can be purchased at flygermania.com or by phoning +49 30 610 818 000 (standard landline charges apply to calls from German landlines, mobile phone charges may vary) and at selected travel agents. All prices quoted include tax and fees, as well as the legally-required air travel surcharge. Since the beginning of the year, Germania has been collaborating with Deutsche Bahn to offer inexpensive Rail&Fly tickets for travel to and from the airport.
