Reed Smith strengthens aviation offering with double partner hire

LONDON - Global law firm Reed Smith today announces the hire of Christopher Jackson and Adam Longney as partners in its Transportation Industry Group and London office.

Jackson has over two decades of experience and joins from REN Legal, where he was partner. He has also previously worked in-house at the Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi and Rolls-Royce. He trained and qualified at Allen & Overy.

His practice focuses on asset finance and leasing transactions, with a particular emphasis on aircraft and engine leasing and trading, structured finance and sales finance. Jackson also advises on the procurement of aviation assets and after-market support programmes provided by manufacturers. His clients consist of airlines, banks, manufacturers, lessors, funds and investment and asset managers.

Longney also joins from REN Legal where he was partner. He has previously worked at Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner and Norton Rose Fulbright.

He has 15 years’ experience advising borrowers, financiers, lessors and lessees in connection with a broad spectrum of domestic and international financing and leasing transactions. Longney has particular expertise in the procurement, financing and leasing of assets in the aviation and rail industries, the leasing of general equipment and the financing of receivables.
