Red Wings plans to acquire five used А321s during April and May 2018, adding to its current seven A320 Family aircraft.

The aircraft will act as a bridge until its first of 16 MC-21s arrive in 2019 on lease from parent, Ilyushin Finance Company. The aircraft will be powered by Russian engines.

Red Wings expects to grow 80% y-o-y to 2.9 million passengers in 2018, following growth of 75.5% in 2017.

Its merger with Nordavia is still in progress, months after signing the deal in October 2017. The merged entity hopes to create a "top 10" Russian airline and take advantage of the operational and financial synergies.
