Record month as TAP transports most passengers ever
1.4 million passengers flew TAP in July. 21% more than in 2016

In July this year, TAP transported a record number of 1.4 million passengers. This is the highest number of passengers it has ever transported in one month. Compared to last year, the company grew by 21%, having transported 247,525 more passengers than in July 2016.
The European market grew the most in July, with an increase of 152,000 passengers compared to last year. In Europe, Spain, the United Kingdom, and Germany had the best market performance, with traffic increases of 42.8%, 30.7% and 27.9%, respectively.
Still in Europe, the Czech Republic and Hungary markets excelled, driven by the opening of the Budapest route, with overall growth of 138%, representing a total of 20,000 transported passengers.
In the internal market, there was a 74% increase in the number of passengers transported to the destination Azores, which translated into 17,000 more passengers transported by TAP in its routes to the Archipelago.
TAP also achieved a new record load factor in July, generally attaining a load factor of 86.3% in its network, 3.3 percentage points higher than in the same period last year.
A higher load factor was registered in the South America market, with 91.2% flight occupation, an increase of 4.6 percentage points compared to July 2016. Its Africa flights also registered an increase of 6.4 percentage points compared to the previous year, with a load factor of 82%.
The record results TAP achieved in July add to the airline’s excellent performance in the first half of the year, as it has already transported 1.6 million more passengers in 2017 than in the same period last year.
