PARIS, June 18, 2019 – Pratt & Whitney, a division of United Technologies Corp. (NYSE: UTX), today announced that Azul Linhas Aereas, a Brazilian airline, signed a 12-year EngineWise Comprehensive service agreement for engine maintenance for the airline’s fleet of 51 Embraer E190/E195-E2 aircraft, which are powered by the Pratt & Whitney GTF™ PW1900G engine.
“With our new fleet of Embraer E190/E195-E2 aircraft, we will realize the economic and environmental advantages of the GTF engine,” said John Rodgerson, CEO at Azul Linhas Aereas. “The service agreement with Pratt & Whitney will allow us to achieve the highest levels of efficiency and reliability.”
Azul Linhas Aereas is the launch customer for the Embraer E195-E2 aircraft and will receive their first aircraft later this year.
