EAST HARTFORD, Conn., July 20, 2020 – The global network of maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) facilities that service Pratt & Whitney’s GTF™ engines continues to grow with the addition of new facilities, more capacity and added capabilities. Pratt & Whitney, a unit of Raytheon Technologies Corp. (NYSE: RTX), and its partners are focused on ensuring GTF engines are ready for service as we enter the industry recovery and the fleet continues to grow.

In the first half of 2020, the Pratt & Whitney GTF MRO network expanded to nine facilities, including Delta TechOps in the United States and EME Aero in Poland. Air India Engineering Services Limited(AIESL) was announced as a provider of maintenance services in support of GTF operators in India and the surrounding region. In addition, Pratt & Whitney’s North Berwick facility will expand to provide maintenance for high pressure turbine and high pressure compressor modules.

Pratt & Whitney has also developed “quick-turn” shop visit capability to incorporate product upgrades into the PW1100G-JM engine at sites across the network. The company recently completed its 100th quick-turn shop visit, which took place at the Pratt & Whitney Eagle Services Asia facility in Singapore. These upgrades are improving the reliability and durability of the engine, which now has a world-class dispatch reliability of 99.97%.

The expanding GTF MRO network is comprised of the industry’s leading MRO companies, including Pratt & Whitney, MTU Aero Engines, Japanese Aero Engines Corporation (JAEC), Lufthansa Technik(LHT) and Delta TechOps.
