LONDON (1st March 2018) --- Pegasus Airlines continues to expand its fleet with aircraft equipped with new generation, more environmentally friendly engines. The first of seven new A320neo aircraft to be delivered in 2018, with aircraft registration number TC-NBP, has landed at Istanbul’s Sabiha Gökçen International Airport. Pegasus officials took delivery of the aeroplane in Istanbul last week, after its maiden flight from Hamburg in Germany on 22nd February. Eylül Masal (“September Fairytale”) is the 16th aeroplane to be delivered as part of the airline’s 100-aircraft order with Airbus, and brings Pegasus’ fleet, the youngest in Turkey, to 75.
Making an announcement regarding the new addition to their fleet, Pegasus Airlines CEO Mehmet T. Nane said, “As Pegasus Airlines, one of our key priorities is to improve the guest experience... To this end, we devise solutions encompassing every part of the business, from ground handling to operations, marketing to the technical aspects, that will make our guests’ lives easier and improve their travelling experience. As a step towards this goal, we have just taken delivery of the 75th addition to our fleet, an A320neo aircraft. We are delighted to be able to offer our guests a much-improved travel experience with our new aircraft, which we have named Eylul Masal (“September Fairytale”). We will continue to expand and modernise our fleet.”
The Pegasus fleet now has an average age of 5.7 years, with the 75-aircraft fleet consisting of 46 B737-800s, 1 Boeing B737-400s, 12 Airbus A320ceos and 16 Airbus A320neo aircraft.
