Paranair, a new Paraguayan airline, preps for launch of operations out of Asuncion

Paranair, to be based in Asuncion, plans to launch operations flying both domestic and international routes. The "new" airline, born from Amaszonas Paraguay, is backed by two industry veterans, Spain's Inversiones en Lineas Aereas Internacionales (ILAI) and Canada's Avmax. Each company holds a 50% stake.

The new carrier is currently in the process of obtaining approval from the relevant authorities as the brand name changes from Amaszonas Paraguay to Paranair.

Paranair is also mulling the launch of an aircraft MRO, however the project is yet to be defined.
