Norwegian Air Shuttle now plans to launch services between Europe and Canada in spring 2019 instead of the planned 23 July 2018 start date, due to a four-week delay in delivery of two B737 MAX on order.

The delivery delay also left not enough time to market the flights.

“We got a slight delay, not much, but it gave us a month shorter pre-sale period,” said CEO Bjorn Kjos. The delays were a result of CFM engine issues.

Also, Norwegian Air Argentina now plans to begin domestic flights in October 2018, a two month delay from the original August start date, according to Kjos. The sales system to be established in May 2018.
