Nordica to launch flights to Zhuliany Airport in Kyiv on 26 April

Today, on the evening of 26 April Nordica will be flying to Zhuliany Airport in Kyiv for the first time. The second-largest international airport in the Ukrainian capital, Zhuliany is 10 km from the city centre, to which it enjoys quick and convenient access. In addition to daily service to Kyiv Borispol, flights from Tallinn to Zhuliany will take place on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays and from Zhuliany to Tallinn on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

Toomas Uibo, Nordica’s Director of Marketing and Communication, says that Ukraine is an important market for the Estonian airline. The European Union is Ukraine’s biggest trade partner, and there is every indication that movement between Estonia and Ukraine will increase even more in the near future thanks to newly implemented visa-free travel for Ukrainians to the EU and ever-increasing business contacts between the two countries. “In addition to passengers travelling between the two capitals we’re also expecting to see a rise in the number of transit passengers,” Uibo explained. “In launching the route we’re looking to create quick additional connections for Ukrainians via Tallinn to Scandinavia, Central Europe and Russia.”

Travellers will be able to fly to 41 destinations from Tallinn during the summer season. Nordica is servicing 21 of those routes, making it far and away the biggest airline operating at Tallinn Airport. Flights to the Macedonian resort of Ohrid are due to commence on 1 June, followed a couple of weeks later by flights to the Black Sea resort of Constanţa in Romania.
