In September the national airline Nordica had over 66,000 passengers for the first time. This represents a 74% growth compared to September of last year. By proportion of passengers Nordica retained its market leader position for flights departing from Tallinn, at 28.5%. The airline performed a total of 1,158 flights in September. 96% of all flights were operated, with 72% of those departing within 15 minutes of their scheduled time.
According to Nordica’s Director for Business Development, Sven Kukemelk, it is worth reiterating the company’s continued leadership for the numbers of flight departures and arrivals in Tallinn. “Due to Estonia’s presidency of the EU Council our September flight schedule was exceptionally tight and we thus also had more passengers, but regrettably the flight regularity percentage deteriorated. We deem timely flight departures to be of the utmost importance and October should see much-improved figures. We have undertaken corresponding measures to achieve that. We promise to continue our quality improvement efforts as we strive to be the best airline for flights departing from Tallinn, offering excellent accuracy and regularity.”
Last week Nordica introduced two new summer season routes – to Constanța in Romania and Ohrid in Macedonia.
