Nordic Aviation Capital fleet reaches 500 aircraft, celebrates the opening of its new HQ in Limerick, Ireland and posts its strongest first-half financial performance to date

At the Dublin Airfinance Conferences, NAC is proud to announce that it has added its 500th aircraft to its fleet. This is a landmark achievement for the world’s number one regional aircraft lessor as it continues to expand its fleet to meet the growing needs of its global customer base. NAC continues to provide a well-balanced portfolio of modern, fuel-efficient and in-demand regional aircraft and reaching 500 aircraft is a testament to its long-term commitment to achieving this goal. The fleet will continue to grow given its committed orders for Airbus A220 and ATR aircraft.

The addition of the 500th aircraft coincides with the opening of its new headquarters at Gardens International in Limerick. Gardens International, which recently won the Royal Institute of the Architects of Ireland (RIAI) Award, offers a high international benchmark for sustainability. The office accommodation is finished to the highest specification. This significant investment reflects the global growth and success of the company, its ambitious plans for its future in Ireland, and the success of the Limerick operation.

Finally, 2020 is off to a great start as the company posted its strongest first-half performance in its 30 year history. NAC recorded a US$ 98.1m Business Performance result for the first six months of 2019/20 which was close to double the result for the same period of 2018/19. The strong business performance can be attributed to a number of factors including the growth of the business, improved fleet utilisation and continued lower operating and financing costs.

Soren M Overgaard, CEO of NAC, commented: “The first half of the financial year has been a busy one for NAC with many exciting developments across the business. Reaching a fleet of 500 aircraft is a significant milestone for the business and this, combined with our recent move to Gardens International, will enable us to realise and fulfill our future plans for the growth and development of NAC. Our historical first-half performance demonstrates that we are off to a great start on our impressive growth trajectory”.

Jim Murphy, CCO, further commented on the 500 aircraft achievement; “I would like to thank our customers for their continuous support to enable us to reach this significant milestone. With their ongoing support, we are well-equipped to continue to refine and diversify our product offering, providing them with the most advanced and new-technology aircraft in the market. We look forward to building and nurturing our partnerships with our valued customers across the world”.
