MUFG has confirmed the leadership team which will be supporting its Global Head of Aviation, David Goring-Thomas, as he ensures a smooth integration following the completion of MUFG's acquisition of DVB Bank's Aviation Finance lending business.

Hajime Kawada, 27 years at MUFG, has been appointed Deputy Global Head of Aviation Finance, and will be responsible for strategic planning and business development. He will be based in London.

Leading the global origination teams will be Eelco van de Stadt, Head of Global Origination and Credit Product, and Olivier Trauchessec, Head of Global Origination and Structured Solutions. Eelco and Olivier will in turn be supported by regional Global Aviation Finance origination teams, with Vicente Alava-Pons taking the lead for London with deputy head Tye Holmes, Subbu Alagappan for New York, and Marilyn Gan leading the Singapore and Hong Kong based teams, supported by co-head Jiro Nomura.

Other senior appointments are: Kieran O'Keefe (London based) as Head of Aviation Advisory; Bert van Leeuwen (Amsterdam based) as Head of Aviation Research; and James Treseder-Griffin (London based) as Head of Global Aviation Loan Capital Markets. Guido Schmitz, formerly Head of Aviation Credit at DVB, has joined the Structured Finance Credit Office at MUFG as Managing Director, Aviation Credit.

Together, this team will work closely with David to develop and drive an integrated global aviation business, building on MUFG's strengths of providing a range of cross-border financial solutions for the aviation sector.
