Monarch Boosts Senior Team With Two Significant New Appointments To Executive Committee
Luton, UK – 14 August 2017 – Monarch, the low cost airline and holiday company, has today announced two new appointments to its senior team, joining this Autumn. Richard Jewsbury joins as Chief Corporate Development Officer, Monarch Group and Richard Singer as the new Managing Director, Monarch Holidays.
Richard Jewsbury will join in the newly created position of Chief Corporate Development Officer, Monarch Group. Jewsbury has more than 20 years’ commercial airline experience, most recently with Emirates as head of projects and performance development within the enterprise transformation team. After working at JP Morgan in the investment banking industry in London, he joined Emirates airline in Dubai in 1996, initially as a commercial analyst before taking on new portfolios, including fleet planning and aircraft finance. Jewsbury then spent time at Air New Zealand before re-joining Emirates in 2005. He held growth oriented senior leadership roles in route and fleet development, commercial operations and revenue management across the airline’s expanding and increasingly competitive global passenger network.

Richard Singer has been appointed Managing Director, Monarch Holidays. Singer joined Travelzoo in January 2012. As President, Europe he had full responsibility for Travelzoo's business across Europe and Australia. During his tenure Singer doubled the membership and audience across Europe to over 10m, won numerous awards for the UK division and grew Travelzoo Germany into a top ten travel brand in that market.
Prior to this Singer held senior positions at Telegraph Media Group - including General Manager of Travel where he led all commercial, editorial and product functions. He was also responsible for the commercialisation of Telegraph.co.uk which became one of the largest media websites in the world.
Singer said: “I'm delighted be joining the Monarch team at such an exciting phase in its 50 year history. To become part of one of the most respected and well-known brands in travel is a tremendous opportunity. I'm looking forward to using my experience in marketing, product and distribution to ensure that Monarch Holidays becomes an even more significant part of the group.”
Singer replaces Richard Francis who is moving to the role of Deputy CFO, Monarch Group. Francis will remain on the Group Executive Committee with a focus on the finances of the Airline, Holidays and Engineering divisions of the Group. Prior to being MD, Francis was Finance Director, Monarch Holidays.
