McLarens Aviation, the leading provider of survey and loss adjusting services to the global aviation industry, has opened a German office, after recruiting a four-strong team of aviation adjusters in Frankfurt. Billed by Managing Director, Nigel Minett, as an indication of the firm’s “continued investment” in its global network, the new German operation will expand the adjuster’s existing European footprint, which includes offices in London, Madrid, Moscow and Paris, and serve as a platform for further growth across Central Europe.
Heading up the team is Managing Director Germany, Mal Robinson. A well-respected figure in European aviation adjusting, with over 28 years’ experience in the aviation sector, Mal launched GAB Robins’ German Aviation operation in 2007, before its merger with Crawford & Company in 2015. Prior to that he spent 17 years in commercial aviation for a German aircraft company and two major airlines, Cathay Pacific Airways and British Airways. He is a licensed civilian Aircraft Engineer with type ratings on many wide-bodied commercial aircraft, as well as holding an engineering license for maintaining helicopters.
Mal is joined by:
Jan Benke, Surveyor: Jan has worked in aviation loss adjusting for three years, prior to which he worked for Cathay Pacific Airways as a licensed senior station engineer, responsible for servicing the airline’s modern fleet of aircraft. He also has experience working on fixed wing General Aviation, jets and rotor wing aircraft.
Daniel Ehrhardt, Surveyor: Daniel has also worked in aviation loss adjusting for three years, prior to which he worked for third party German maintenance organisation NAYAK, as Station Manager in Frankfurt, servicing regional airlines and corporate jets. He is also a licensed civilian Aircraft Engineer.
Christina Voos, Liability Adjuster: Christina has worked in aviation loss adjusting for two years and specialises in airline passenger injury, cargo and airport operators liability claims, as well as claims relating to ground handling operations
Nigel Minett, Managing Director, McLarens Aviation, commented: “Mal and his team are very well known and respected within the European aviation insurance market and we’re delighted to have them on board. Our strategy has always been about providing specialists at local level and continued investment in our global network. Given the importance of central Europe to the aviation sector, Germany is a country we’ve been looking at for some time and an obvious place for us to be”.
Mal Robinson, Managing Director Germany added: “McLarens Aviation is unrivalled when it comes to the strength and breadth of its expertise across the globe and we’re very happy to be part of the team.”
