  • Buenos Aires, October 17, 2022. In the context of the 18th edition of the ALTA AGM & Airline Leaders Forum, the main conference for the leaders of the commercial aviation industry in Latin America and the Caribbean, organized by the Latin American and Caribbean Air Transport Association (ALTA, for its acronym in Spanish), the first low-cost airline in Argentina announced the arrival of more aircraft this year, anticipated its potential fleet for 2023, and outlined its 2X Plan for growth and investment set for 2022.
  • This month, the airline received its 8th aircraft, and soon, it will incorporate two more Boeing 737-800 NG aircraft to its fleet. Additionally, it will attempt to end the year with two more planes to bring its fleet to a total of 12 aircraft. This increase in capacity will not only allow Flybondi to add more flights and reinforce those it already offers (in both domestic and international routes), but also to prepare for a strong summer high season.
  • Moreover, as regards its plans to continue to increase its capacity and flight offer to new domestic and regional destinations, Flybondi announced that it will be searching the leasing market for at least 5 Boeing 737-800 aircraft to add to its fleet during 2023.
  • According to the Monthly Report prepared by the Argentine Administration of Civil Aviation (ANAC, for its acronym in Spanish), Flybondi is the second largest airline in Argentina in terms of capacity, holding a domestic market share of 18% (twice the market share it held in 2019).
  • In addition, Flybondi is the airline with the highest flight occupancy rate (94%). It is worth noting that the number of passengers carried by Flybondi has increased by 87% so far, as compared to September 2019, and the airline is getting closer to achieving one of its objectives set when it announced its growth plan.
  • “We love being able to make these announcements in a context of recovery and growth. This is a source of pride for over 1,050 flybondiers who work each day to democratize air travel in Argentina and the region and who are convinced that there is a large market to be conquered. Today we can confirm that we intend to have 12 aircraft in operation in the next few months and that we are searching the leasing market to add more aircraft to our fleet in 2023. This will translate into new domestic routes and having more countries in the region connected with Argentina," declared Mauricio Sana, CEO of Flybondi.
