KUALA LUMPUR, 25 FEB 2022 – Malindo Air announces today that all bookings are now open for its relaunch of the Kuala Lumpur-Perth-Kuala Lumpur service which will commence on 3 March 2022. The twice weekly service marks the airline's first destination into Australia after a hiatus of two years due to the international border closure since the beginning of Covid-19 pandemic. From 28 March onwards, our frequency will be ramped up to 4X weekly.

Malindo Air had launched its inaugural flight from Kuala Lumpur to Perth on 19 November 2015.

Our one-way all-in flexi fares on this new relaunched route KUL – Perth start from RM1,299 for Economy Class and RM2,559 for Business Class, all inclusive of perks such as 30 kg free baggage allowance.

The first service, with a full set of vaccinated crew on flight OD155 will depart Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) on Thursday at 6.45pm to Perth, and with a flight time of about 5 hrs and 45 mins, it arrives Perth International Airport at 00:30am. The returning flight OD156 departs Perth at 01:20 am and arrives KLIA at 07:10 am.

The narrow-body Boeing 737-800NG aircraft with a seat capacity of 162, which includes 12 Business Class and 150 Economy Class seats, will be deployed on this relaunched route.

CEO of Malindo Air, Capt Mushafiz Bin Mustafa Bakri said, “Before the pandemic struck, many Malaysians travelled to Australia for business, VFR (visiting family and relatives), for holidays and to pursue their education, and vice versa. We are aware that the closure of Australia’s borders has been especially challenging for our Malaysian students studying in Australia. We need to resume these people-to-people flows to maintain our close and excellent bilateral relationship. We are very grateful that the governments have prepared the infrastructure and processes to get ready to do this with mutual recognition of health and vaccination certificates.”

Mushafiz also said,”We are very optimistic about the travel outlook. We anticipate a rebound and an uptick in leisure travel demand which should see business travel pick up again. There are many reasons to be optimistic…When we look at passengers carried and advanced bookings, the demand seems stronger than they have been in recent months.”

Passengers must comply with entry requirements into Western Australia and are strongly advised to visit: https://www.smartraveller.gov.au/ and https://www.australia.gov.au/
