Malindo Air and Turkish Airlines today jointly announced the start of a code-sharing partnership effective as of 6th September 2017 that enables both carriers to tap into new markets and offer their passengers more travel options.

Two esteemed airlines have decided to take their prospering commercial relations one step further. Within the scope of this codeshare cooperation, Turkish Airlines will place its marketing code and flight number on Malindo Air’s Denpasar (Indonesia)*, Perth (Australia), Langkawi (Malaysia), Penang (Malaysia), Kuching (Malaysia) and Kota Kinabalu (Malaysia) flights from Kuala Lumpur while Malindo Air will place its marketing code and flight number on trunk route (Kuala Lumpur-Istanbul v.v.) and Istanbul-London / Amsterdam / Vienna / Frankfurt / Copenhagen v.v. routes operated by Turkish Airlines. In this regard, Codeshare Agreement will provide more comfortable travel opportunities to the passengers who have already been transported under the existing commercial cooperation between two airlines since 2016. The passengers will be provided with seamless service to South East Asia and Malaysian domestic routes with this Codeshare.

Malindo Air’s CEO, Chandran Rama Muthy, praised the agreement saying; “Malindo Air is thrilled with the implementation of this code share agreement. Our partnership has been growing steadily and this progression is certainly a milestone for us as we value our partnership and strive to strengthen our route network while promoting KLIA as a transit hub to the world.”

“We are grateful to witness the fruitful commercial cooperation between Turkish Airlines and Malindo Air since 2016. Now, we believe that this expanded cooperation, which enables passengers to travel to more destinations with extended flexibility, will generate even more value for both airlines.” stated Bilal Ekşi, Deputy Chairman and CEO of Turkish Airlines.

This remarkable cooperation allows the passengers to benefit from the networks of both carriers and travel between two countries with ideal connectivity beyond Istanbul and Kuala Lumpur.
