Maldivian Adds New China Routes to Boost Tourism
Maldivian, the National Carrier of the Maldives plans to further spread its wings to 03 major cities in China. The airline is working to start operations to Beijing, Shanghai & Shenzhen later this year. As such, Island Aviation is in the process of acquiring a new aircraft to support this which they are targeting to deliver into Maldives by September. Currently Maldivian is bringing in about 1050 passengers per week from 6 cities in China. With the addition of these three cities to the Maldivian network, the airline projects this number to double fold. This, undoubtedly is a great contribution for the development of the country. Island Aviation’s Managing Director Abdul Haris met with his Excellency Wang Fukang, Ambassador of China to the Maldives in regards to the expansion and sought assistance to speed up the process.
