Kelana Jaya, 9 February 2018: Malaysia Airlines Berhad Academy (MAB Academy) today took a step further in strengthening its position as a regional aviation learning hub by collaborating with the International Air Transport Association (IATA) in becoming its first Regional Training Partner in South East Asia (SEA). The partnership was made official during a signing ceremony by MAB Academy Chief Executive Officer, Captain Kamaruddin Kamilin and IATA Director, Training & Consulting, Guy Brazeau witnessed by MAG Chief Executive Officer and MAB Academy Chairman, Izham Ismail and IATA Marketing and Commercial Services Regional Head Asia-Pacific, Craig Astridge.
The partnership will allow MAB Academy to offer the initial 10 IATA courses in 2018 that are relevant to the airline and aviation industry which suits the regulatory needs and requirements in the region. The courses will be conducted by IATA’s facilitators with the first training to kick start on 26 February 2018.
The courses fee is set competitively, providing the participants with qualified IATA Instructors and the most up-to-date materials and resources for a valuable learning experience.
Formerly known as Malaysia Airlines Academy (MAA), the Academy was established in October 1994 to cater to the learning needs of Malaysia Aviation Group (MAG) employees. Renamed as MAB Academy in December 2017, the Academy is now a distinct subsidiary company under MAG that has been identified as a key enabler to transform, educate and develop aviation professionals of the future.
