Lufthansa Technik (LHT) Sofia, Bulgaria, has signed a multi-year agreement with Satair for Airbus Managed Inventory (AMI) services.
The Airbus subsidiary Satair’s AMI solution optimizes inventory management and ensures that Airbus high-usage and non-repairable proprietary parts are automatically replenished into a consignment stock at LHT Sofia’s warehouse which is part of a 50,000 square metre facility at Sofia Airport. However, over time, the scope of the agreement may be extended.
Michael Haupt, Head of Logistics Solutions and Support Management states:
“AMI has proven to be very popular and we have won significant business in recent years from airlines and MROs in Asia-Pacific and Latin America. Lufthansa Technik Sofia is another European customer expressing trust and we look forward to the cooperation.”
A significant innovation with this new agreement is that both companies have implemented an IT connection which enables Satair to trigger replenishment process exactly when needed. This level of integration enables the automatisation of all order-related functions which AMI is now managing (material demand, order handling and material transportation).
