Lufthansa Technik has increased its LEAP-1A spare parts inventory by cowlings and thrust reversers. These large components are located in Frankfurt, Germany, and can be provided worldwide to customers on loan or exchange for immediate AOG (aircraft-on-ground) support. Further cowlings and thrust reversers would be available via a mutual support agreement with other suppliers.

"A spare nacelle set of inlet cowl, fan cowls, and thrust reversers can be a considerable investment for airlines at such an early age of the aircraft. With a spare parts pool, we can make a better and more economic choice available to our customers," said Michael Kirstein, Senior Director Aircraft Systems at Lufthansa Technik.

By investing in further spare parts and expanding its pool, Lufthansa Technik is responding to the rapidly growing Airbus A320neo fleet with LEAP-1A engines, which is expected to grow by more than 300 aircraft per year.

Via its international network Lufthansa Technik is in the position to react to ad-hoc LEAP-1A service requests worldwide.
