LOT orders six more B737 MAX 8s from ALAFCO
LOT Polish Airlines to lease six more B737 MAX 8s from Aviation Lease and Finance Company (ALAFCO), based in Kuwait. The aircraft will be delivered on nine-year operating leases by the end of 2019, adding to the six already on order.
LOT currently operates two MAX 8s, with two more due soon, both on lease from Air Lease Corporation, based in the Los Angeles. The remaining two from the first batch of six are due in December 2018 and May 2019.
From June 2018, the third of six E195s will deliver to LOT, along with its third of seven B787-9s. Two Q400s under short-term lease will also deliver in June.
From early 2020, LOT plans to terminate its B737-400 lease, end its B737-800 wet lease contract with Romania's Blue Air, and by mid-2023, it will end its B737-800 leases.
