LEVEL Flights and Ticket Sales Take off in Austria
LEVEL’s first flight from Vienna takes off to London Gatwick at 1620 CET/1520 BST today.
The inaugural flight on International Airlines Group’s (IAG) new shorthaul low-cost Austrian subsidiary, branded as LEVEL, will arrive into London Gatwick at 1750 (local time) with all seats sold on the Airbus A321. Flights to London operate 14 times per week and later today LEVEL will commence its seven weekly services to Palma, Majorca.
LEVEL has four A321 aircraft based in Vienna from where they are operating to 14 European destinations. Each aircraft is fitted with 210 economy seats.
Fares start from €24.99 one way and tickets are on sale at flylevel.com. More than 150,000 tickets have been sold since its launch on 28 June.
At Vienna airport, Willie Walsh, IAG’s chief executive said: “LEVEL is already a huge success in Austria with more than 35,000 tickets sold in the first two hours of its promotional campaign.
“It’s great to start shorthaul flights from Vienna and offer more choice and amazing fares to Austrian consumers. This is enabling us to strengthen our presence in Austria, Germany and Switzerland by offering low cost, reliable flights”.
Over the next four weeks, flights from Vienna will start to Barcelona, Malaga, Venice, Olbia, Ibiza, Paris Charles de Gaulle, Milan Malpensa, Dubrovnik, Larnaca, Alicante, Valencia and Bilbao.
Customers can check-in online or at the airport and take one hand baggage item onboard for free. They can choose to pay for additional items, such as checked luggage, from a menu of options designed to suit different budgets and needs. There is also a large selection of food and drink that can be purchased onboard.
