Laser Airlines to cancel the debt in PAWA and assume its routes

Venezuela's flag carrier Laser Airlines reportedly canceled the debt that PAWA Dominicana had with both Airports Century XXI and the Dominican Republic. As a result, Laser was granted PAWA’s routes from Santo Domingo to destinations in the Caribbean, thus establishing a Dominican subsidiary.

Laser will now operate routes ceased by PAWA, including those to San Juan, Curacao, Aruba, Miami, San Martin, Antigua, and Caracas from Las Américas International Airport in Santo Domingo.

The Venezuelan airline currently operates scheduled and charter flights from the Simon Bolivar airport in Caracas to routes in the Caribbean, South America and the US, in partnership with World Atlantic Airlines and Air Swift.

Laser plans to start its Dominican operations as soon as possible.

Update: Airports Century XXI has denied the cancelation of PAWA's debt by Laser Airlines.
