March 12, 2020 (New York, NY) – In light of President Trump’s recent restrictions on travel between Europe and the U.S., effective March 13 at midnight for a period of 30 days, the all-business class, French boutique airline La Compagnie is forced to reassess its flight schedule for the upcoming months.
As such, La Compagnie will continue to operate its normal schedule of flights through March 18th to ensure French and American passengers who are currently traveling are able to return to their destination of origin. However, only American citizens and permanent legal residents and their families will be able/permitted to travel from Paris Orly between March 14 and March 18 2020.
Due to the decrease in activity and demand and to ensure La Compagnie does not operate flights that are primarily empty, the airline has taken measures to suspend the entirety of its scheduled flights from March 18 to April 12, 2020. Once the travel restrictions from Europe to the U.S. are lifted—currently scheduled for April 15, 2020—La Compagnie will resume with one daily flight between Paris and New York.
Furthermore, the launch of the seasonal New York-Nice service is being pushed to June 1st, 2020.
All passengers scheduled to travel on flights that have been cancelled will be individually contacted in the coming days and will be offered alternative flights and options to postpone or cancel their travel arrangements. In addition, La Compagnie will be extending passengers who have booked flights scheduled between now and May 31 the option to reschedule their travel plans at no cost or to issue vouchers that may be redeemed within the next year.
“The restrictions imposed by President Trump have forced us to take extraordinary measures to adapt our operations so we can best address the unexpected and significant decrease in revenue. The temporary cessation of our flight service will help weather this crisis so we can resume activity once the ban on European travel to the United States is lifted, and continue to the great momentum we’ve had since the arrival of the new A321neo aircraft,” expressed Christian Vernet, President of La Compagnie.
While La Compagnie plans to resume normal operations June 1, 2020, the airline will continue to monitor the outbreak and the impact it has on air travel as the airline’s top priority is to ensure safe flights for its passengers and employees.
