From May 23rd 2019, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines will extend the number of code-sharing destinations it offers in partnership with China Eastern. The number of destinations will increase from 14 to 63, including Yinchuan, Xining, Shantao, Zhangjiang and Zuhai. This means KLM will offer customers an even more comprehensive network in China.
China Eastern will, in turn, offer code-sharing services to 24 new European destinations via the KLM network through Amsterdam, connecting with China Eastern flights between Shanghai and Amsterdam. China Eastern will offer 39 destinations in Europe, including Turin, Warsaw and Basel. The KLM flights between Amsterdam and Shanghai have been part of the joint venture between Air France, KLM and China Eastern since the end of 2018.
“We are always on the lookout for new opportunities to optimize our network. We are pleased that these new destinations will open up more travel possibilities in China. Further development of our connections with and within China has long been one of KLM’s strategic priorities." - Pieter Elbers, KLM President & CEO
