Joe Esposito promoted to S.V.P. – Network Planning

Delta Air Lines has promoted Joe Esposito, Vice President – Network Planning - Americas, to Senior Vice President – Network Planning, effective July 1. Joe will report directly to Delta's President Glen Hauenstein.

With nearly 30 years at Delta, Esposito began his career in 1990 at Delta in Airport Customer Service in Orlando. He was most recently responsible for the economic, financial and capacity planning of the airline's domestic system as well as schedule planning. In his new role, Esposito will be responsible for the day-to-day responsibilities leading Delta's diverse global network strategy.

Esposito will fill the position of Bob Cortelyou, Senior Vice President – Network Planning, who is retiring from Delta effective July 1. Cortelyou is an airline industry veteran of more than 30 years. Upon joining Delta in 2005, he and his team helped lead one of the largest network transformations in aviation history as Delta evolved from a Southeast-focused U.S. airline to a truly global carrier.

"In addition to Bob's focus on growing Delta's network, he's also been invested in growing Delta's Network organization by investing in talent and leadership development as well as bench strength," Hauenstein said. "There is no one who is more prepared to take on this role [than Joe]."

Following this transition, Cortelyou will consult with Delta focusing on its international partnerships and global strategy. His work to date helped shape Delta's partner strategy and this transition will allow him to accelerate that progress.
