Jetstar Group And Tigerair Taiwan Launch Virtual Interline Partnership
Tokyo: Today, Jetstar Group and Tigerair Taiwan announced a new alliance creating their first virtual interlining Low Cost Carriers (LCCs) partnership.
The partnership made possible by technology company and flight search engine, Dohop, opens- up new destinations, new connections and more flights for both airlines in key Asian markets, allowing customers to enjoy more seamless connectivity throughout the region.
The new booking solution, powered by Dohop, allows passengers to book new connections and flights on both Jetstar and Tigerair Taiwan through their respective branded platforms, accessible through the airlines’ websites.
The integrated booking engines allow customers to select flights and purchase both bundled and unbundled ancillary products, and those customers connecting between International flights, will be provided with seamless passenger and baggage transfer.
Jetstar’s Head of Alliances & Regional General Manager of Southeast Asia, Clive Ashmore Butler, welcomed the partnership and said that the ability to partner with other LCCs through Dohop opened-up a new world of possibilities.
“This new partnership enables Jetstar to offer our customers more destinations, more frequency and better connectivity, by combining our expanding network with Tigerair Taiwan’s, all at the click of a button, fulfilling our vision to make more travel affordable,” Mr. Ashmore Butler said.
“The launch of Jetstar Connect on jetstar.com will provide more options for customers to access Jetstar’s great value fares and an expanded number of low-cost connections. For Jetstar’s customers in Japan, this partnership opens up new services to incredible destinations such as Cebu, Kaohsiung and Macau, while Jetstar’s customers in South East Asia will enjoy more options when travelling to Japan and Korea.
“We are looking forward to developing the Jetstar Connect platform further and welcoming new LCC partnerships in the future.”
Dr. Horng-Jong Chang, Chairman of Tigerair Taiwan said he was happy to celebrate the announcement of the new partnership with Jetstar and Dohop.
“Dohop’s search engine aggregates both Jetstar and Tigerair Taiwan’s flight connections allowing our customers to enjoy the network and travel services beyond Tigerair Taiwan,” Dr. Horng-Jong Chang said.
“A Taiwanese passenger can now plan a trip to the Gold Coast by combing Jetstar and Tigerair Taiwan’s flights through Dohop; or a Japanese passenger can fly to Taiwan by connecting via Jetstar Japan’s domestic network.
“This partnership gives customers access to destinations not served by Tigerair Taiwan, including Gold Coast, Melbourne, and Phnom Penh. We believe this is an emerging trend as more and more travellers want to be the decision-maker while planning their trip.”
Mr Philipp Dietlin, Dohop’s Director for Asia-Pacific said they were delighted that Jetstar and Tigerair Taiwan had chosen Dohop’s innovative interline technology to power their new partnership.
“We are excited to partner with these visionary airlines to launch our virtual interline solution in this part of the world to create better connectivity and offer more choices for the travelling public,” Mr. Dietlin said.
“We look forward to continue working closely with both Jetstar and Tigerair Taiwan to grow their partnership and enable new airline partnerships throughout Asia-Pacific.”
