Jet2.com and Jet2holidays took to the skies once again this morning, (1^st July), as the award-winning airline and tour operator recommenced its flights and holidays programme to FOUR sunny hotspots, following last week’s announcement from the UK Government on international travel.

22 flights departed from Belfast International, Birmingham, East Midlands, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Leeds Bradford, London Stansted, Manchester, and Newcastle Airports today, with customers jetting off for some much-needed sunshine to Green List destinations, including the Balearic Islands (Majorca, Menorca and Ibiza) and Madeira. This is in addition to the company’s programme of flights and holidays that is already operating to Jersey. From tomorrow (2^nd July), Jet2.com and Jet2holidays will also start operations from its tenth UK base, Bristol Airport, waving customers off to Majorca and Menorca on their first ever flights from the base.

Following the news last week that the Balearic Islands (Majorca, Menorca and Ibiza), Malta and Madeira have been put onto the Green List, Jet2.com and Jet2holidays reported a huge surge in bookings to these destinations, with customers flocking to book July and August holidays.

The leading leisure airline and package holiday specialist reported the highest volume of bookings to the Balearic Islands in almost a year, with bookings for July alone up more than 3,000% at one point. Bookings for Madeira also jumped by almost1,500% as customers took the chance to finally book and enjoy their much-needed holidays.

In response, Jet2.com and Jet2holidays has put additional flights on sale to Madeira, representing thousands of extra seats on sale in July and August from Birmingham and Leeds Bradford Airports.
