Jet Aviation announces redelivery of a completely custom-designed BBJ3

Jet Aviation is pleased to announce its Completions Center in Basel has redelivered a Boeing BBJ3 outfitted with a VIP cabin interior for an undisclosed customer.

Designed in-house by the Jet Aviation Design Studio, the aircraft is the result of close collaboration with the client to craft a completely unique and personalized interior. The design is an integration of several elements, including floral motifs, leather wingback armchairs and a bold red and blue color scheme. With inspiration drawn from the golden age of travel, the finished product is a blend of classic elegance with bespoke detail.

An eye-catching red and blue palette runs throughout the interior, featured on leather sofa and armchair seating, and in the intricate patterns of the silk carpets. The design of the carpets is drawn from a vintage pattern, reimagined in a larger, more contemporary repeat. Bright colors swirl together in a floral design at the center of each room, framed by a neutral woolen border carved with the same integrated pattern.

In the lounge and dining areas, aircraft seating has been completely integrated into leather sofas and wingback armchairs in the same red and blue tones. Custom-made at Jet Aviation in Basel, the seating is an example of the level of personalized detail available to customers while still meeting aircraft certification requirements.

The bold colors are offset by a neutral background of natural and burr walnut tables, cabinets and credenzas, antiqued leather paneling, brushed antique gold finishes and large swathes of rare Golden Sahara marble.

Despite its very personal interior, the aircraft is designed to offer flexibility for both private and commercial operation. The VIP areas consist of a large forward lounge, a central master suite and private bathroom with full-height rain shower, and an interconnected cinema (with large 50” monitor) and dining room, which can be used as one large space, or separated with electro-chromatic glass panels.

In the aft section of the aircraft, business and economy seating is designed in blue leather to complement the VIP design.

“Detail was really at the heart of this design,” states Simon Thümmler, manager Interior Design Completions. “Every element, from the custom-made seating, to the monograms on the sheets, was carefully considered to add to the overall aesthetic. It’s a blend of classic elements and contemporary detail, and completely tailored to the customer’s specific aesthetic requirements.”

“This aircraft is a beautiful example of how committed the Jet Aviation Design Studio is to creating something that fully represents a customer’s ideas,” added Neil Boyle, senior vice president & general manager of Jet Aviation in Basel. “It also demonstrates our commitment to excellent craftsmanship and engineering, working with the best materials to create an interior that is not only completely bespoke, but comfortable to travel in, and fully certifiable.”
