- Two more A320neo aircraft scheduled for delivery in 2019
- Supports airline’s network expansion plans
Kuwait, June 11, 2018: Jazeera Airways, Kuwait's leading low-cost airline, operating regionally and internationally, today announced it took delivery of the first Airbus A320neo aircraft to arrive in the Middle East, introducing the fuel-saving and new engine aircraft to its growing fleet.
Jazeera Airways Chief Executive Officer, Rohit Ramachandran, said: “This is the first of three A320neo aircraft scheduled to be delivered to Jazeera Airways by May 2019, supporting our continued network expansion to cover destinations that are around 5 to 6 hours away from Kuwait. The A320neo introduces new upgrades that enable us to make cost savings while improving performance and increasing the range covered by the single-aisle aircraft.”
The A320neo incorporates the new CFM LEAP-1A engines and fuel-saving wingtip devices known as Sharklets. It offers savings in fuel burn, additional payload, increased range, lower operating costs and significant reduction in engine noise and CO2 emissions below the current industry standard.
The first flight for the Jazeera A320neo, J9 176, left Kuwait for Dubai at 1:10pm (GMT+3) today.
