Jazeera Airways launches flights to Sharjah, third destination in UAE

-       Connects students and tourists to the emirate of Sharjah, Ajman and Northern Emirates

-       Two return flights per week

Kuwait, February 18, 2020: Jazeera Airways, Kuwait's leading low-cost airline, operating regionally and internationally, today announced that it will launch the airline’s first service to Sharjah on April 2, 2020, marking its third destination in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Jazeera Airways CEO, Rohit Ramachandran, said: “We are very pleased to be operating our first direct service to Sharjah and to be launching this new route following our successful service to Al Ain in December last year.

“The flight not only connects our customers to a great tourist destination for families, but also connects Kuwaiti students to an airport closer to where they are studying as well as residents of Sharjah to our growing network of destinations in Europe, the Middle East and Indian Subcontinent.”

Sharjah is a leading destination for Kuwaiti students attending universities such as the University of Sharjah and the American University of Sharjah. Sharjah International Airport also connects Kuwaiti students to universities located in the emirate of Ajman as well as the northern emirates.  Moreover, Sharjah is home to distinct archaeological sites, historic museums, galleries and heritage houses that provide a rich experience into the local culture and history.

Rohit added: “We thank Sharjah’s Department of Civil Aviation and Sharjah Airport Authority for enabling Jazeera Airways to launch this new service and support the growing demand for flights between both airports.”

The airline will operate direct flights to the third largest Emirati city with two convenient weekend return flights every Thursday and Saturday. Flights takes off from Kuwait at 13:55 local time and return from Sharjah at 16:30 am local time.

Bookings for Kuwait-Sharjah flights are open and available on jazeeraairways.com. Fares start from KD31 for a one-way flight from Kuwait and KD49 for a return flight from Kuwait.

Jazeera Airways offers passengers the choice between three fare categories in Economy Class: Light, Value or Extra, each providing them with a set of services to meet their needs. Passengers of Economy Class Light, the lowest fare category, are allowed a carry-on and a small bag, and can add on the services they require for their travel itinerary. Passengers of Economy Class Value are additionally allowed 20 kilograms in checked-in baggage allowance, while passengers of Economy Class Extra are allowed 30 kilograms in checked-in baggage allowance, priority check-in and the ability to choose from the Preferred Seats located on rows 4 to 10.

Passengers can add on services as needed such as excess baggage, a meal from the Jazeera Café, access to the Jazeera Business Lounge, or the new Priority Service for a faster travel experience that includes access to Priority Check-in, Priority Baggage and Priority Boarding.

The new Seat Selection allows them to choose between Premium Seats located on rows 1 to 3 which provide generous legroom with a 33–inch seat pitch, or the Preferred Seats located on rows 4 to 10 which provide a 31-inch seat pitch, or the Extra Legroom Seats located on rows 11 and 12 giving passengers the maximum legroom in the 35 to 38-inch seat pitch, or finally the Standard Seats with 28-30-inch seat pitch are located on rows 13 to 28 / 29 and are designed for the best comfort at great value.
