Iran Air has taken delivery of their first Airbus A321 today (Wednesday, 11th of January). The delivery is the first out of a mega order for 98 aircraft that Iran placed with Airbus.

The order for 98 aircraft has been finalized in December, helping Airbus end on top of Boeing in the annual order battle.

The order consists of 6 A320ceo aircraft, 32 A320neo aircraft and 8 Airbus A321ceo aircraft totalling 46 Airbus narrow body airframes. Iran Air will also operate 52 widebody jets: 8 Airbus A330–200 airfcraft, 28 Airbus A330–900s and 16 Airbus A350–1000s.
