Interjet plans to take delivery of its 40 A320neos ordered in 2012
Interjet's chief executive, Miguel Aleman, says the carrier plans to resume the purchase of 40 A320neos, based on its 2012 deal with Airbus, as limited slots at Mexico City's International airport is forcing the carrier to seek larger aircraft.
The airline canceled five of 40 A320neos on order back in mid 2016, however it was not disclosed if these would be reinstated.
Interjet currently operates three A320neos on lease from AerCap.
The carrier may also grow by selling a stake and establishing a strategic alliance with an international airline, according to the CEO. No deals have been signed yet.
