Hong Kong, 8 January 2019 – Just in time to fulfill any new year’s travel resolutions, HK Express is excited to announce a new direct route to Bangkok (Suvarnabhumi Airport)! Slated to begin on 31 March 2019, the service will offer a seamless way to travel between Hong Kong and Thailand’s capital city, with 5 flights per week on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.

The Hong Kong-based airline is marking the occasion with a special introductory offer, featuring fare starting from HKD218*. The sales period will take place from 8 January (11:00) until 1 April 2019 (23:59), followed by an eligible travel period between 31 March and 30 June 2019.

Ready to explore beautiful Bangkok? The tropical paradise is sizzling almost all year round, but the skies are particularly sunny in the early summer. With blue skies nearly every day from March to June, travellers may want to explore the city’s most photogenic outdoor attractions, such as the impressive Grand Palace; Wat Arun, a mesmerising Buddhist temple that sits on the west bank of the Chao Phraya River; and glittering Wat Saket, also known as Golden Mount, so called for its glittering façade.

Of course, Bangkok’s food-centric experiences are equally enticing. The culinary city brims with every style of Thai food, from experimental tasting menus to addictive street-side eats. In the mornings, gourmands will gravitate toward Damnoen Saduak, a labyrinthine floating market that recalls bygone days. More of a night owl? Famous around the world, Bangkok’s nightlife scene promises everything from swanky rooftop bars to humble roadside pubs.

“We are thrilled to add Bangkok to our route network! The popular transit hub has long been a top travel destination for both independent and business travellers,” said Jonathan Hutt, Commercial Director of HK Express. “The Thai capital is dynamic, photogenic, and brimming with culture – there is so much to explore, and we hope that our loyal guests take advantage of these excellent introductory fares, so they can experience Bangkok firsthand.”

Going into 2019, HK Express continues to show a strong and steady performance, beginning with the launch of Hong Kong-Nagasaki route on 19 January 2019. For the fourth consecutive year, AirlineRatings.com, an independent industry research group, has named HK Express one of the world’s “Top 10 Safest Low Cost Airlines for 2019” with a “7-star safety rating”. Looking back at 2018, HK Express flew a total of 1,900 sectors, carrying 4.1 million passengers with an annual average load factor of 89.9%. HK Express expects to reach the 15 million passengers flown milestone by March 2019.
