BERLIN – 31st May 2017 – The Germania Group is increasing its presence in the wet-lease business segment in order to meet the increasing market demand for ACMI services. In Summer 2017, the company is planning to make an Airbus A319 with Bulgarian registration available for wet-leasing services to its European airline partners. Once up and running, these services will be available for short-term use by the Germania fleet as well as for other carriers’ needs.
The 150-seat aircraft in Germania’s green and white livery will include the company’s traditional high standards of service and product offerings. Germania’s newly formed subsidiary, Bulgarian Eagle plans to take the aircraft under its pending Air Operator’s Certificate. The application review process is currently underway with the Bulgarian civil aviation authority for approval.
Wet-leasing aircraft is an historical core competency of Germania Fluggesellschaft. Since the 1980s, the company has recognized the role of wet-leasing in its business model and built Germania’s flight operations from this key element. With this background, today the company has extensive experience in the market. With Germania’s substantial increase in single seat sales, the company was formerly only able to lease out aircraft in individual cases. Through its new member within the Germania Group this business segment will be renewed and enhanced.
