Georgian Airways plans to increase its fleet from 2019, according to general director Givi Davitashvili.

The Tbilisi-based carrier recently signed a letter of intent (LOI) for five E195-E2s delivering from late 2019 through 2H 2020, and a similar agreement for five B737 MAX aircraft delivering from late 2023 through 2024.

The new aircraft will be used for expansion and not for the renewal of its current fleet, which consists of three B737-700s, three E190/195s and one CRJ200.

Both LOIs are expected to be firmed in the short term.
