December 3, 2020 – Helsinki, Finland – GA Telesis Engine Services OY (“GATES”), the engine heavy maintenance unit of global aviation integrator GA Telesis, LLC, announces a new cooperative agreement with the airframe base/heavy maintenance provider Atitech S.p.A. of Naples, Italy.

GATES and Atitech, both highly experienced in their respective fields, have joined forces to provide turn-key solutions to Atitech’s customers for activities not under its capability, such as engine shop visits. The first two CFM56-5B engines were shipped to GATES’ facility in Helsinki, Finland, for a full performance restoration shop visit.

“This cooperation with GATES marks an achievement again in Atitech’s pursuit to provide great customer service. Long-term partnerships with our customers are vital in the field of heavy airframe maintenance, and we are fully committed to developing our service offering towards our customers,” says Giovanni Lettieri, Atitech Chairman.

Russ Shelton, President Engine Strategies at GA Telesis, concludes that “Atitech is a new type of customer for GATES although GA Telesis has long supported various airframe MROs with parts, component repairs, and other activities. GATES is known to seek new ways of supporting operators and lessors with innovative engine repair solutions, and cooperating with Atitech will show that two MROs joining forces will bring additional benefits to the end customer.”

“Atitech is an ideal MRO to develop a long and fruitful partnership with additional opportunities under consideration such as aircraft teardown, fleet management, and maintenance including painting," added Mauro Francazi, Director, Business Development for GA Telesis’ Asset Trading Group.”
