September 15, 2020 – Fort Lauderdale, Florida – GA Telesis, LLC (“GAT”) announced today that it has joined the Aviation Working Group (“AWG”).

The AWG is a not-for-profit legal entity comprised of major aviation manufacturers, leasing companies, and financial institutions that contribute to developing policies, laws, and regulations that facilitate international aviation financing and leasing. The AWG (www.awg.aero) was formed in 1994 by Airbus and Boeing to provide detailed, coordinated input to assist UNIDROIT in developing an international treaty on the financing and leasing of mobile equipment that would come to be known as the Cape Town Convention (CTC). The CTC and its Aircraft Protocol established the fundamental international framework to protect lessors and lenders' interests concerning leasing and financing aircraft.

“We are honored to join the Aviation Working Group,” commented Abdol Moabery, Chief Executive Officer of GA Telesis. “The AWG has been critical to advancing key issues surrounding international aircraft leasing and finance, and we look forward to contributing to its continued efforts to support the aviation industry through the extraordinary challenges we are currently facing,” he added.
