BERLIN – 01 August 2017 – Germania is enhancing its offering at Friedrichshafen airport for the next summer season by adding new flights to the Algarve. Faro is the destination that will allow travellers to fly direct from Bodensee (Lake Constance) airport to Portugal's southern Atlantic coast for the very first time. Flights will operate from May 2018 and have already been released for booking.

In addition, Germania is expanding its flight programme and increasing weekly frequencies from the current 19 to 21 flights to various holiday destinations. These include the Greek islands of Crete, Kos and Rhodes, each with two flights per week. There are three flights a week to Antalya, and daily flights to the Spanish holiday island of Majorca. Flights to Fuerteventura, Gran Canary or Tenerife will continue to complement Germania's activities at Bodensee airport, which will also welcome an Airbus A321 of the airline’s fleet for the first time in summer 2018. The improved offerings are due to optimised aircraft deployment in cooperation with other German airports.

"We are delighted about the promising booking situation from Friedrichshafen and will remain a stalwart partner at Bodensee airport," said Claus Altenburg, Director Sales, when confirming Germania's commitment to the region. "We are discussing further business developments with the management. Basing a second aircraft here is another possible option."

Claus-Dieter Wehr, executive director of Bodensee Airport Friedrichshafen: “Germania is a reliable partner in the touristic segment for Bodensee Airport. Our customers of the four-country corner (Switzerland, Germany, Austria, and the Principality of Liechtenstein) will benefit from the increased range of flights in the summer season 2018: New to the flight schedule will be Faro at the Algarve, which is a much favored holiday destination. With increased frequencies to the Greek Islands - flight connections will be available twice a week - it possible to plan the length of a holiday that starts from Bodensee Airport, with even more flexibility.”
