CEO Annette Mann: "We are happy about the arrival of our newest fleet member just in time for the beginning of the holidays. Austrian is starting the summer well booked and our aircraft are full. With the A320neo, we have brought one of the most innovative and efficient aircraft types on the market to Austrian Airlines, and I am delighted that we will soon be growing in our long-haul fleet as well." From 2024, ten Boeing 787-9s will gradually modernize the entire Austrian long-haul fleet, an increase from nine to ten aircraft.

A320neo particularly fuel-efficient and quiet

New-generation aircraft are a key lever in reducing CO2 emissions in flight operations. Thanks to innovative technology, the A320neo is up to 20 percent more fuel-efficient than previous models and around 50 percent quieter. Passengers can also look forward to the cabin design with an innovative lighting system, which is geared to the biorhythm of passengers. The A320neo also offers particularly much space for hand luggage, with up to 60 percent more capacity.
