Flyr AS has obtained an operating license from the Civil Aviation Authority
Flyr, a Norwegian based low-cost carrier (LCC) targeting a concentrated route
offering in high-margin markets, has been issued an Air Operator Certificate
(AOC) by the Norwegian Civil Aviation Authority (CAA).
With this approval, all formalities are in place for the company to initiate
operations, with first flight from Oslo to Tromsø scheduled for 30 June.
"We at Flyr would like to thank the Civil Aviation Authority for a constructive
and professional process. Now all formalities are in place and we look forward
to welcoming our guests on board" said CEO Tonje Wikstrøm Frislid at Flyr.
The Oslo-Tromsø route is the first in a series of routes Flyr will start to
operate during its first months of operations. Going forward, the company plan
to gradually broaden its offering through a stepwise expansion. Initially
focusing on domestic Norway with selected European leisure destinations, then
gradually expanding the European presence before completing a full Norwegian and
European demand driven offering.
