Flyr appoints Brede Huser as new CEO
CFO Brede Huser takes over the role as CEO of Flyr as Tonje Wikstrøm Frislid has decided to leave. Wikstrøm Frislid has led the company since its launch in 2021 until today, where Flyr has become an airline known for a good, modern, and efficient service, a good travel experience and happy employees.
“Tonje has done a formidable job of building a culture that puts the customers and employees first, as well as building a well-liked and well-known brand. I would like to thank Tonje for her invaluable contributions to Flyr and wish her the best of luck in her future endeavors,” said Erik G. Braathen, Chairman of Flyr.
“It has been a privilege to have been a part of building this fantastic airline together with the best people in the industry. Flyr is now moving into a new phase, and I have come to the difficult decision that it is time for me to pass on the responsibility. I am proud of what we have created together and am convinced that Flyr will get through this demanding time . I am also convinced that the traveling public needs a company that takes care of its customers and employees. I would like to thank everyone who has cheered for us and for me,” said Tonje Wikstrøm Frislid.
“The company is now entering a new phase where it is crucial to strengthen Flyr’s financial situation. Brede Huser has extensive overall company insight and possesses the necessary execution power we need as we enter the next phase. He has shown a solid ability to bring together good teams that deliver well both in Flyr and in other companies where he has previously held managerial responsibilities,” said chairman Erik G. Braathen.
“It has been inspiring and rewarding to work with Tonje and going forward we will preserve our good culture and friendly service. I look forward to working together with the rest of the management team and all other colleagues in Flyr to build the airline of the future,” said CEO Brede Huser in Flyr, who takes on the role with immediate effect and will continue in the role of CFO until further notice.
Huser has been the CFO of Flyr since its inception in 2020. Huser has more than 19 years of experience from the airline Norwegian, where he from 2006 to 2015 held leading positions in the finance department before becoming the managing director of Norwegian Reward in 2015. Huser has also worked in finance at companies such as Orkla, Arthur Andersen and Ernst & Young. He is educated at Norwegian Business School BI and has a master's degree in finance.
