Malaysia’s flyGlobal Charter, a wet lease/ACMI aircraft operator, began operating flights between Kuala Lumpur and Jeddah on behalf of Nesma Airlines of Saudi Arabia, on 23rd November 2017.

The 2017/2018 Umrah flights are carrying pilgrims booked through Nesma Airlines’ GSA in Malaysia, Alfajr Travel & Tours Sdn Bhd.

“We are very pleased to be operating our Boeing 777-200ER, 406-seater passenger capacity aircraft, on behalf of Nesma Airlines,” says Shamini Law, Chief Executive Officer at flyGlobal Charter.

“And assisting our Malaysian pilgrims in their journey to Makkah and Madinah truly is a privilege,” she adds.

In July earlier this year, flyGlobal wet leased its B777-200ER aircraft to its launch client, Biman, the national flag carrier for Bangladesh, over the Hajj period.

Both flyGlobal’s Boeing 777-200ER aircraft are on operating leases from Pembroke, Standard Chartered’s aviation subsidiary.

The first aircraft (9M-FGA, MSN 28530) was leased in March earlier this year, and the second (9M-FGB MSN 32318) in July.

Legal counsel used by Standard Chartered was Clifford Chance, while the Malaysian charter operator used the Singapore branch of Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy LLP.

The Malaysian charter operator will service other wet lessors and charterers, focusing on the Asian and Middle Eastern charter and wet lease markets. flyGlobal is a Kuala Lumpur-headquartered charter and wet lease operator using Boeing 777 aircraft for its main fleet.

“flyGlobal will expand its B777 fleet to ten (10) aircraft by 2021. These aircraft will be wet leased to various operators, says Shamini Law, Chief Executive Officer.
