Tahitian startup, Fly Coralway, has abandoned its airline project “due to lack of financing,” according to an announcement the company made on Facebook.

The carrier, which had pushed back its launch several times since announcing its intentions in 2020, had planned to fly connect Tahiti, Samoa, Wallis and Futuna, Fiji, and New Caledonia on the so-called “coral route”.

The startup is the first airline to fold in 2024.
